Complete reports, notifies staff, and documents any changes in heart rhythms of patients. Systematically organizes and documents ongoing rhythms as per policy. Updates RN timely with information regarding status of patient in compliance with policy and other regulatory agency requirements. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Observes all assigned monitors and accurately interprets rhythms. | • | Reports changes in rhythm to RN assigned to the patient or the unit charge nurse in a timely manner. | • | Accurately records and documents patient rhythms during shift. | • | Communicates and responds to lethal arrhythmias quickly and promotes patient safety per guidelines. | • | Completes report to oncoming shift on patients monitored. | • | Reports equipment malfunctions to bio-med and units immediately. | • | Replenishes department supplies as needed and ensures recording paper is available at all times. | • | Excellent customer service skills. | • | Performs other duties as required or assigned. |
