Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System Initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Consistently follows sanitation codes while preparing salads and cold foods. Demonstrates ability to adapt pace of work to prepare last minute items for caterings and trayline as needed. Labels and dates food items and all containers that are opened prior to returning to storage areas. | • | Utilizes standardized recipes to correctly prepare menu items consistently weighing and measuring ingredients to ensure nutritional standards of items. Accurately documents amounts of foods prepared and leftovers on food production records. | • | Follows food safety guidelines ensuring ingredients are kept cold throughout food preparation process, following HACCP guidelines. Consistently utilizes cut resistant glove when utilizing knives. | • | Seeks to assist with meeting department patient satisfaction goals by preparing eye appealing menu items, participating in test trays, and putting patient needs first. Attends production area meetings and assists with resolution of issues addressed from test trays and patient meal rounds. | • | Completes area assigned daily/weekly/monthly cleaning checklists following all designated procedures. Empties garbage as assigned and disposes of broken glass appropriately. Stocks station as needed for next shit. Maintains a clean work station throughout shift. | • | Operates the buffalo chopper, slicer, steamer and steam kettles as needed in the preparation of cold salads. Cleans and sanitizes equipment per department standards. Utilizes stainless steel protective glove when cleaning slicer and buffalo chopper. | • | Performs all aspects of job in an environment that optimizes patient, customer and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. Maintains confidentiality of position acquired information. Completes other duties as requested. |
