JOB SUMMARY

Receives and verifies orders, sets up and distributes stock on a daily basis following established procedures.  Monitors storage and receiving temperatures putting orders away in a timely manner to ensure HACCP guidelines are met through the delivery process. Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment in the dock, storeroom and walk-in coolers and freezer.  Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


Receives and verifies all deliveries, inspecting for damaged products at time of delivery. Verifies accuracy of all invoices before signing. Informs manager of any product shortages or damaged products following established protocols. Documents HACCP receiving temperatures and storeroom temperature, notifying manager of any temperature variances.

 

Puts food and supply orders away, dating all received food products and rotating inventory to ensure a “first in, first out” usage according to established policies. Ensures that perishable products are put into their storage area quickly to ensure HACCP temperature guidelines are followed consistently. Follows IDPH codes for storage order of items in coolers.

 

Organizes, sweeps and mop coolers, storage and dock areas on a daily basis maintaining cleanliness of environment and following established procedures. Ensures safety of others by utilizing wet floor signs.

 

Assists in weekly inventory of products. Ensures inventory items are organized and put in sheet to shelf order to ensure efficient and accurate inventorying process.

 

Collects and verifies prepared food and supplies for day cares per department policy. Ensures that deliveries to the Ryan Jury facility are complete and delivered on time.

 

Assembles and distributes stock requisitions daily. Completes and maintains required records per department policy. Delivers supply orders to the Peterson House and SAMC/B in a timely manner. Makes runs to other hospitals and stores to pick up supplements and supplies as requested.

 

Performs all aspects of job in an environment that optimizes patient, customer and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. Maintains confidentiality of position acquired information.

Must have current State of Illinois Food Sanitation certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.  If no valid license is in place prior to hire, Serve Safe Food Handler certification required to be completed within 30 days of hire.

Must have valid Illinois State Driver’s license and a driving record that allows for the Health System insurance carrier to cover the incumbent.
