Provides efficient and courteous service to customers within the Hospital. Maintains knowledge of all cafeteria menu items and portions to correctly charge customers. Counts, balances and records daily sales and drawer cash bank following established procedures. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Utilizes cash register system following established procedures for cash, credit card and department charge transactions. Verifies accuracy of menu programming prior to service. Posts daily menu signs as needed. | • | Is accurate in change buying and drawer counting to minimize necessary follow up by supervisor. Maintains variance record within department guidelines. | • | Balances drawer change bank, counts sales receipts on a daily basis following established procedures documenting totals and charges on sales reports and cash slips. | • | Independently utilizes sound judgment and guest relations skills in dealing with dissatisfied customers evaluating options and effectively resolving problems. Communicates unresolved issues to management | • | Orders appropriate amount of supplies for daily service and stocks area with supplies, beverages, condiments etc per established procedure and ensuring rotation of product for “first in/first out” usage. Stocks silverware and condiment island, cleaning area frequently. | • | Maintains responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, cash stations and beverage areas. Is observant of other areas, utilizing lower volume times to clean and stock throughout the cafeteria. | • | Evaluates customer flow and independently assists others ensuring efficient and timely customer service. Consistently greets customers pleasantly and seeks out to help those in need without being asked. | • | Performs all aspects of job in an environment that optimizes patient, customer and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. Completes other duties as assigned. Maintains confidentiality of position acquired information. |
