Assists patient's recovery by providing a sanitary, attractive, safe environment with minimal interference. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System Incentives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Dusts, scrubs and mops (wet and dry) floors following established policies and complying with safety regulations and established time frames. Maintains confidentiality of position-acquired information. | • | Utilizes battery operated equipment i.e. scrubbers buffers, pagers, tools. | • | Inspects and maintains equipment daily to ensure cleanliness and proper working order. Reports any mechanical failures, general safety infractions or need for service and repair to the Supervisor. | • | Utilizes appropriate electrical equipment to buff floors, vacuum, steam clean, shampoo and extract carpets following established protocols. | • | Sets up and moves furniture, freight and equipment as required. Changes cubicle curtains and drapes and checks condition of mattresses. Reports furniture that needs repairs. | • | Cleans all discharge units and out patient areas following established procedures including doors, baths and restrooms replacing disposable supplies following established aseptic techniques and utilizing appropriate cleaning solutions. Uses Bed Ready Program to document status of discharges. | • | Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture, woodwork, beds, fixtures and any surface that collects dust. Gathers and disposes of refuse, cleans and relines waste containers following established procedures. | • | Performs all aspects of job in an environment that optimizes patient, customer and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. |
