Processes and communicates physician's orders and other information utilizing a variety of office equipment. Participates in a continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Performs clerical support duties for department including, transcribing, patient and physician/providers scheduling, filing and distributing reports following established procedures. | • | Types a variety of letters and memos utilizing computer systems following established procedures. Functions as a resource to all staff assisting with the operation of department equipment as needed. | • | May function as department receptionist, greeting and directing flow of visitors, scheduling patient and/or staff appointments and answering department phone calls. Coordinates services and necessary equipment with other departments within the Hospital System. | • | Assists with data collection and report preparation maintaining confidentiality of position acquired information. | • | Orders and maintains department supplies within budget parameters ensuring optimal functioning and maintains related records of purchases. | • | Establishes and maintains complete, accurate and timely records, including payroll/ time and attendance information and confidential filing systems to support efficient department functioning. Where applicable tracks prescription refills, patient failed appointments/late cancellations. |
