JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the timely and safe delivery of patient medications, supplies, and equipment to Home Infusion clients in accordance with UW Health Northern Illinois (UWHNI) policies. Serves as a critical link between UWHNI and the patients we serve, ensuring continuity of care through accurate, compassionate, and professional service. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of UWHNI philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


Securely transports medications, medical equipment, and supplies to patient homes in compliance with UWHNI guidelines.

 

Coordinates efficient delivery and pickup routes to meet established time frames.

 

Maintains accurate documentation and assist patients or family members in completing required forms.

 

Safeguards the integrity of medical deliveries by preventing spoilage, contamination, or loss.

 

Performs routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation.

 

Reports any incidents or damage to delivery vehicle to Manager and appropriate authority if necessary in a timely fashion per UWNI guidelines.

 

Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts.

 

Properly handles and transports biohazard waste in accordance to state and federal regulations.

 

Supports internal team by assisting in stocking and organizing supplies as needed.

 

Cleans and maintains durable medical equipment (DME) as requested, ensuring items are ready for safe patient use.

 

Provides courteous, respectful interactions during delivery to support patients and families.

 


As needed, additional responsibilities reasonably within the scope of duties and physical requirements may be assigned.  ALL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS MUST BE PERFORMED CONSISTENT WITH THE UW HEALTH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND RESPECT FOR PEOPLE COMMITTMENTS.
