As needed, supervises the work of other Therapists, technicians or students. Required to work occasional shifts at SAMC-Belvidere as needed. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Greets patients and explains procedures and provides clinical input regarding pulmonary care into the patient’s overall plan of care working collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. | • | Conducts therapeutic procedures to achieve maintenance of an airway, removal of pulmonary secretions, ventilation, aerosolized pharmacological agents, oxygenation and lung expansion therapies. | • | Collects, reviews and evaluates clinical information and documents accurately in the patient’s record maintaining confidentiality of position acquired information. | • | Provides clinical instruction to students or other health care professionals as required. | • | Selects, assembles, checks and repairs equipment for proper function, operation and cleanliness. | • | Sterilizes and disinfects equipment following established infection control procedures and practices. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. |
