Performs established procedures following hospital and department philosophy, policies and standards. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. Responsible for all billing and charges. | | | | | | | | |
• | Greets patients and explains procedures answering any questions or alleviating fears regarding procedure or radiation exposure. Provides patient education to obtain desired results and gain cooperation. | • | Properly positions patients and equipment according to the oncologists prescription while respecting patient ability and comfort. | • | Provides clinical instruction to students or other health care professionals as required. | • | Assists Radiation Oncologist in performing patient related procedures following established protocol. | • | Observes patients for unusual reactions or events and refers complications to appropriate resource. | • | Monitors, maintains and performs equipment quality control checks maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment and reporting malfunctions to proper resource. | • | Utilizes Computer system to maintain scheduling demographic patient information and treatment records maintaining confidentiality position acquired information. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. | • | Keys into the Epic system patient treatment charges daily and organizes professional charges submitted to the plaza per physician. |
