Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Utilizes ALARA principles during examinations. Implements radiation protection and safety standards. Prepares for and assists the physician in procedures, including interventional procedures. Performs reconstruction of CT images. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. | | | | | | | | |
• | Uses AIDET for every patient; every time. (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You). | • | Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort. Applies principles of radiation protection. | • | Selects appropriate protocol to perform procedures successfully. Assists Radiologist with fluoroscopic exams and administers contrast media or medications prescribed by licensed practitioner following state statue(s) and institutional policy. | • | Evaluates images for technical quality and assures proper identification. Manipulates studies for accurate archiving. | • | Monitors the supplies. Maintains a neat and clean environment and performs equipment quality control checks. Reports any equipment malfunctions in an accurate and timely way | • | Provides clinical instruction and evaluation for students or other health care professionals as required. | • | Uses the computer system in compliance with HIPAA regulations. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. |
