Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Greets patients, explains procedures and educational information regarding sleep disorders working collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. Applies electrodes and monitoring equipment according to established standards. | • | Performs sleep disorder testing following established departmental procedures and American Academy of Sleep Medicine guidelines. Observes patient during testing and provides input to physician. | • | Scores sleep recordings and collects information in preparation for Physician’s review and interpretation and documents accurately in the patient’s record maintaining confidentiality of position acquired information. | • | Prepares and calibrates testing equipment making necessary adjustments following established procedures and ensuring proper function and signals, operation and compliance with regulatory and state standards. | • | Orders, cleans and maintains equipment and supplies ensuring smooth operations within established budgetary guidelines. Removes broken equipment and reports to appropriate resource. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. |
