Performs treatments and procedures within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of Illinois. Updates RN with timely information regarding status of patient in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Under the direction of a resource designee, provides direct and individualized nursing care to assigned patients following established nursing policies and procedures and applied scientific principles. Incorporates age-specific, cultural and spiritual needs of the patient and significant other (s). | • | Assists in patient assessment process, by observing, collecting and reporting objective and subjective data regarding patient medical/surgical history, allergies, medications, physical and psychological status. | • | Reports patient condition changes and/or signs and symptoms of deviations from normal to restore designee, maintaining confidentiality at all times. | • | Prepares, administers and records prescribed medications in accordance with established hospital and regulatory policy and guidelines. | • | Clearly and accurately documents and records observed patient information and care provided. | • | Operates and maintains equipment utilizing proper procedures and established department policies. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. | • | Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers. |
