Monitors patient's drug regimens and intervenes when appropriate to ensure optimal drug therapy. Reviews and evaluates medication orders for appropriateness. Authorizes the dispensing of medications to inpatients and outpatients. Provides drug information to the Health System staff, patients and community. Precepts PGY1 pharmacy residents and students from accredited colleges of pharmacy. Carries out the control and distribution functions ensuring compliance with health systems, state, and federal policies, guidelines and laws. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
