The position conducts regular day-to-day communications with Epic's support team, reviews the software and analyzes operational and clinical workflows. This position is responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures used in conjunction with Epic applications. The pharmacist will provide medication therapy management services in collaboration with providers to assure that drug therapy is safe, effective, efficient and cost-effective. The pharmacist will provide training and education to Pharmacy Residents and PharmD students and will ensure that patient care is maintained through compliance with the department's policies, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies. | | | | | | | | |
• | Facilitates the development of Epic system specifications tailored to departmental use and future clinical and operational needs. | • | Builds and maintains Health Link application according to department specifications. | • | Coordinates technical system changes with Information Systems, Pharmacy, and Epic staff. | • | Communicates prescription information to health care providers effectively and efficiently. | • | Supervises and priorities the daily activities of technicians, students, residents or other support staff, participates in staff orientation and training and bring any discipline issues to attention of management. Participates in evaluation, orientation and training of support staff. | • | Maintains knowledge in Policies and Procedures including the location of both departmental and health system policies. | • | Displays competency in the control and inventory of controlled substances and the use of automated dispensing machines for the acquisition of controlled substances. |
