Assesses and educates patients/families on protocol treatment, side effects, monitors treatment dosing and disease status. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experience in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Directs all aspects of clinical trial participation in compliance with regulatory procedures. Selects appropriate clinical trials for IRB approval and activation, maintains updated/revised protocol documents, prepares annual reports on all appropriate studies and submits all regulatory forms in a timely manner. | • | Educates patients/families on participation requirements, obtains informed/signed clinical trial and HIPPA consents, and registers patients on appropriate clinical trials. | • | Educates patients/families regarding protocol treatment, side effects and follow-up care. | • | Available resource to physicians, staff and students regarding clinical trials. Maintains accurate active protocol list and readily available protocol documents for reference. Provides or facilitates educational programs and/or teleconferences as requested. | • | Maintains and collects data within the study group’s standard of 12% delinquency rate. Protects confidentiality of data. | • | Maintains knowledge necessary to perform in a current clinical sound manner. |
