Perform comprehensive Drug Utilization Review (DUR) to assess appropriateness of therapy, identify potential drug interactions, and intervene as necessary to ensure safe and effective patient care. Provide Patient centered care through medication counseling in the pharmacy, in inpatient settings, and via telephone/ mail-order services, ensuring patients understand medication use, dosing, side effects, and adherence strategies Maintain current knowledge of clinical guidelines, therapeutic advancements, and appropriate medication dosing across patient populations. Administer immunizations in accordance with state law and health system policies, maintaining required certification and competency. Lead daily pharmacy operations by organizing, directing, and overseeing technician workflow, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant execution of dispensing processes. Serve as a resource and mentor to technicians, promoting accountability, teamwork, and adherence to operational standards. Ensure compliance with all health system policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., Board of Pharmacy, DEA, Joint Commission, USP standards), including proper handling of controlled substances, recordkeeping, and inventory management. Maintain accurate documentation and oversee processes for removal of expired or damaged medications. Support and uphold pharmacy operational excellence by monitoring workflow efficiency, identifying opportunities for improvement and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives aligned with departmental and health system goals. Provide drug information and clinical guidance to healthcare providers, staff, patients, and the community. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by adhering to established procedures, regulations, and safety standards. Function effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, demonstrating sound clinical judgment, strong operational oversight, and leadership in delivering high-quality pharmacy services. | | | | | | | | |
