Additionally, these activities may be utilized to provide support to any additional programs the department oversees. Provides emotional, social and developmental support to hospitalized children (including Pediatrics and NICU) and their families (including siblings). Serves as a role model and communicates Child Life and other programs' philosophy throughout the organization. | | | | | | | | |
• | In conjunction with Supervisor, establishes and communicates goals and objectives for the Child Life Program consistent with departmental and corporate philosophy. | • | Develops materials and procedures for patient education and coordinates education and tutoring for patients. | • | Selects, trains, evaluates and supervises Child Life volunteers and interns. Not sure if we should keep. | • | As requested, provides referrals, consultations and screening. Accurately documents information and patient response to therapy. | • | Participates in a variety of hospital and community events. As a resource to the health care team, provides appropriate referrals to community resources. | • | Prepares budget for Child Life Departments. Maintains adequate, developmentally appropriate supplies and materials, within established budget parameters. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. |
