Delivers health education to staff. Provides evaluations of employees returning from leaves. Completes OSHA reports and ensures the organization meets occupational health safety legislation. Completes accident reports after investigation and makes recommendation for prevention. Maintains department inventory. Contacts occupational health physician to arrange further treatment for injured worker. | | | | | | | | |
• | Demonstrates use of the nursing process in the delivery of patient care for assessment of work related injuries and illnesses. | • | Demonstrates critical thinking skills and exercises nursing judgment in evaluating patient needs for follow up care. | • | Demonstrates effective documentation and communication skills in recording patient care notes and other health records and reports as well. | • | Promotes safety and infection control procedures. Able to investigate accident causes and hazardous exposures. | • | Provides care and education incorporating age-specific, cultural and spiritual needs of the patient and significant other into the plan of care. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, and compliance efforts. | • | Able to direct companies internal case management programs. | • | Demonstrates compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employee and the environment. |
