JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Equipment Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing medical equipment for construction, renovation, and capital projects. Work will be from early design through design completion, equipment procurement, installation, and project closeout. This role develops equipment inventories, budgets, supports procurement and vendor coordination, and installation. Projects will vary in size and will require the Medical Equipment Planner to partner with cross-functional teams of internal and external stakeholders, both internal and external, including but not limited to planning, design & construction, clinical operations, healthcare technology management, procurement, finance, maintenance and engineering services, architects, engineers, vendors and contractors.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


Prepares presentations and ensures consistent communication related to project or operational assignments. Independently develops and presents multiple options to senior leadership.

 

Plans the medical equipment scope for healthcare projects and keeps stakeholders informed.

 

Leads equipment planning sessions and user group meetings across all project phases.

 

Schedules and supports vendor presentations/site visits as required.

 

Obtains and compares quotes, updates budgets, generates equipment lists within established standards and guidelines. Secures stakeholder sign off on final equipment lists, enters requisitions for purchase orders, and develop receiving & installation plan.

 

Reviews drawings and coordinates equipment requirements; ensures dimensional accuracy and confirms utility requirements are met.

 

Coordinates delivery, storage, and installation of medical equipment; assists with inventories and move-management.

 

Researches emerging technologies/products in collaboration with clinical teams and healthcare technology management staff.

Sedentary: Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Light: Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.
