This position leads efforts in the reduction of energy consumption and climate impact for UW Health by promoting long-term sustainability initiatives. The Energy Manager acts in accordance with policies and procedures and exemplifies the mission, vision, and values of UW Health. | | | | | | | | |
• | Work with cross functional teams to understand current procedures, operations, equipment, and infrastructure to develop baseline facility assessments. | • | Collaborate with cross functional teams to establish a strategic plan (including SMART goals, life cycle assessments, and cost analyses) to incorporate energy saving and climate impact sustainability initiatives into the organization’s framework. | • | Manage the identification and prioritization of capital projects, operational changes, and equipment / infrastructure upgrades that result in reduced energy consumption. | • | Develop business case(s) with solutions engineered to provide short return on investments (ROIs) in order to secure funding for projects focused on energy. | • | Implement on-going continuous commissioning strategies to proactively monitor utilities, building automation systems (BAS), and MEP equipment to ensure optimal performance. | • | Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify progress on important sustainability metrics and identify areas for continual improvement. | • | Identify available incentives and rebates. Write project proposals, grant applications, or other documents to pursue funding for energy saving and climate impact initiatives. | • | Compile and submit documentation associated with environmental organizations, and local, state and federal government energy programs. | • | Evaluate and approve proposals for energy considering factors such as cost effectiveness, return on investment, technical feasibility, emissions reduction, risk, and integration. | • | Influence operations to ensure compliance with environmental or governmental regulations. |
