JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of a RN, provides a safe environment for confused, agitated and/or suicidal patients.  Updates RN with timely information regarding status of patient in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


As a non-direct care provider, monitors patient safety, under the direction of the RN and in accordance with established department policies and procedures.

 

Keeps the patient within eyesight at all times.

 

Monitors patient activity level and provides the RN with accurate and timely information regarding patient status, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

 

Supports all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts.

 


As needed, additional responsibilities reasonably within the scope of duties and physical requirements may be assigned.  ALL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS MUST BE PERFORMED CONSISTENT WITH THE UW HEALTH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND RESPECT FOR PEOPLE COMMITTMENTS.
