JOB SUMMARY

UW Health in northern Illinois is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our growing Breast Surgery team. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a fellowship-trained breast surgeon in a comprehensive breast care program that emphasizes personalized, evidence-based care for patients with both benign and malignant breast conditions.

 

As part of our multidisciplinary approach, you'll collaborate with medical and radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons, radiologists, and nurse navigators to provide seamless, patient-centered care from diagnosis through survivorship.

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


Conducting pre- and post-operative evaluations, including physical assessments and review of diagnostic imaging.

 

Assisting in the operating room for surgical procedures such as lumpectomy, mastectomy, and sentinel lymph node biopsy.

 

Managing post-operative follow-ups, including wound care, drain management, and patient education.

 

Providing education, emotional support, and coordination of care for patients navigating complex diagnoses.

 

Participating in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions and care planning.

 

Coordinating care across specialties to ensure timely referrals, imaging, and treatment initiation.

 

Supporting clinic efficiency through independent patient visits and timely documentation.
