JOB SUMMARY

UW Health in northern Illinois seeks a BE/BC Pediatrician/Pediatric Hospitalist to join the over 300 employed providers of the SwedishAmerican Medical Group in Rockford, Illinois.

 

For years, UW Health Women and Children's Hospital has the area's most popular obstetricians, beautiful birthing suites, Level III NICU and an award-winning team. Our NICU cares for newborns who are born prematurely or have other illnesses or conditions that require highly specialized care. Over a dozen pediatric specialists are located in this beautiful facility on the first floor.

UW Health in northern Illinois is seeking dedicated and skilled physician to join our pediatrics team.

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


•

Your clinical support includes the following:

  • The region’s largest and most-preferred medical group and health system
  • Full-service academic hospital support, including the state-of-the-art UW Health Women and Children’s Hospital with a variety of pediatric specialty providers.
  • The leader in northern Illinois for annual births, backed by the largest OB group in the area
  • Academic appointments available with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford to work with medical students and family medicine residents
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized pediatric patients
  • Perform patient admissions, assessments, and treatment planning
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in hospitalized children
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, specialists, and social workers
  • Communicate with patients' families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress
  • Coordinate care transitions, including discharges and referrals to outpatient providers
  • Supervise and educate medical students and residents
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care as needed
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations
  • Document patient care in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely
  • Engage in continued medical education and stay updated on pediatric advancements
