The instructor is responsible for instructing courses and correlating clinical/laboratory exercises for each course they teach, as assigned by the Program Manager. The Instructor's responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction and evaluation. While the Program Manager monitors the overall program direction and performance, the instructor ensures that course and clinical/laboratory exercises meet course objectives, for each course or lab they teach. This position is responsible for education of clinical and supporting didactic education for registered apprentices and ensuring that it is kept updated as needed to ensure compliance with the regulations set forth by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Health. This individual is responsible for ensuring that students are well prepared for the National Certification exams and that all milestones outlined in the registered apprenticeship curriculum are met. | | | | | | | | |
• | Direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains. | • | Assesses, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive education programs utilizing the fundamental principles of adult learning/education. Through this the instructor will be able to meet the orientation, ongoing competency, and professional development needs of the employee, with a specific focus on supporting the UW health model of professional nursing practice. | • | Provide instruction that covers the curriculum for assigned classes and stays current on any changes through Madison College. | • | Perform student evaluation and use continuous quality improvement techniques to determine the effectiveness of instruction and student achievement. | • | Create a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism. | • | Maintain accurate student records. | • | Create reports as requested. | • | Identify students needing assistance. Refer and aid as needed. | • | Prepare and update course syllabi for each course taught, using research outcomes for effective learning. | • | Assist the other instructors as needed. | • | Participate in program development activities and fosters achievement of goals and learning objectives. | • | Attend and participate in program meetings and organization meetings as needed. | • | Assure compliance with program expectations and support program outcomes. | • | Assist in the enforcement of program regulations and report student conduct violations. | • | Participate in community activities that are served by the program. | • | Other duties as assigned to meet student, employer and program needs. |
