Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. Coordinates family involvement in assessment and treatment of the patient. | | | | | | | | |
• | Evaluates and assesses patients and establishes an individualized occupational therapy plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes and discharge plans. | • | Administers plan of care incorporating age-specific, cultural and spiritual needs of the patient and significant others. | • | Continually observes and reevaluates treatment effects consulting with physician and other health care professionals, altering program as needed in order to provide quality patient care. | • | Supervises and delegates to assistants, technicians, students and volunteers in providing support functions. | • | Coordinates appropriate patient referrals for other services as needed. Functions as an advocate for multidisciplinary services and resources during stay and in preparation for discharge. | • | Educates patients, family and other health care providers on appropriate care. Modifies activities considering learner’s needs and capabilities. Conducts on-going educational programs as required. | • | Accurately documents patient information and treatment following department policies and maintaining confidentiality of position acquired information. Completes billing in a timely manner. | • | Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. |
