Authorizes the dispensing of medications to inpatients and outpatients at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Monitors patient's drug regimens and intervenes when appropriate to ensure optimal drug therapy. Provides drug information to the Health System staff, patients and community. Carries out the control and distribution functions ensuring compliance with health systems, state, and federal policies, guidelines and laws. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Processes medication orders properly. | • | Proficient in Quality Improvement initiatives. | • | Participates in Code Blue situations. | • | Provides medication information when applicable. | • | Maintains knowledge in Policies and Procedures. | • | Displays competency in the use of all pharmacy resources, including computer software, hardware and other technology. | • | Maintains control and inventory of Controlled substances. |
