Oversees Unit budget and operations ensuring quality patient care and cost effectiveness. Assists Department Director in the implementation of unit, department and institutional strategic goals. As needed, provides clinical care. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. | | | | | | | | |
• | Provides support and supervision to agency staff, in the delivery of patient care and carrying out strategic vision. | • | Monitors staff resource utilization, including preparing and reviewing daily staff schedules, addressing short term fluctuations and assigning daily work and/or patient assignments. | • | Assists in staff development, training and education and assures compliance with department and System policies and procedures. | • | Functions as a coach and role model for staff and monitors performance, recommending corrective action and participating in discipline as needed. Provides input for performance evaluations for professional and ancillary staff. | • | Facilitate efficient patient quality care. Implements plans and tactics for area of responsibility. | • | Assists manger in monitoring and maintaining supply resource utilization and expense, within established budget parameters. | • | Assists manager with monitoring, evaluating and modifying department and management scorecard plans. Implements and evaluates plan effectiveness. | • | Monitors, evaluates and resets operational and clinical methods and outcomes and communicates progress to manager. | • | Participates in frontline interventions, monitors staff and patient response to care.
